About Financial Advisor Magazine and the Selection Process
The July issue of FA, a financial services industry trade publication, recognizes the nation’s top registered investment advisor firms. To be eligible for this ranking, firms must be independent registered investment advisors (RIAs), provide financial planning and related services to clients, file their own ADV statement with the SEC, and have at least $50 million in assets under management as of December 31, 2015.
612 registered investment adviser firms were surveyed by Financial Advisor magazine for the 2016 RIA Survey and Ranking. Of the total surveyed 92 firms or 7% were included in the $500 million < $1 billion category, along with Pekin Singer Strauss. The results may not be representative of any one client’s experience, as they are an average of all of the experiences of all clients. The rankings are not based on client evaluations of the firm.
Pekin Singer believes the survey results will be generally relevant for existing and potential clients. Pekin Singer is not affiliated with Financial Advisor and the firm has not made any payment for participation in this survey, [though the firm may purchase reprints from Financial Advisor time to time]. The results are not indicative of future performance and rankings of this kind are only one of many factors relevant in determining whether to retain an investment adviser. Registration with the SEC does not imply a certain level of skill or training. Please contact Financial Advisor for further information on the methodology of the survey.
